D-Sign Dance Inspired by Critical Mass
Black Country Dance Hub is looking for D/deaf or hard of hearing young people aged between 13 and 30 years that are interested in dance to join them for an amazing project.
Inspired by Critical Mass, D-Sign Dance is a fantastic opportunity for D/deaf and Hard of Hearing young people to make a brand new dance, which will be performed at Birmingham Weekender!
The dance will be created in conjunction with artists from Deaf Men Dancing, a collaboration of professional D/deaf dancers led by Choreographer and Artistic Director Mark Smith. You will be working together to create a dance that combines a fusion of different dance styles with sign-language and perform the piece on Saturday 27 August 2022.
It’s FREE to be involved in the project and every session will be delivered in British Sign Language with BSL interpreters in the room. What’s more there is also support with travel costs and food and drink will be provided.
You don’t need any dance experience just a willingness to join in and be available for the rehearsals and performance date.
Rehearsals will also take place at Walsall Arena & Arts Centre:-
